Are you prepared for move day?

Here are some considerations to help protect your belongings. Following these simple tips will also ensure a smooth and efficient move.

• Before the movers arrive, please make certain all items are removed from your chests, breakfronts, bookcases, desks, filing cabinets, etc. and that all your belongings are properly packed in stackable boxes. However, please leave hanging clothes in closets as the movers will box them on the hangers.

• Please remove the linen off all beds but leave the frames intact. The movers will dismantle them for you.

• Please be available during the move to answer questions, direct the placement of your furniture and boxes and sign the bill of lading, etc.

• The day before the move, please defrost, clean and dry refrigerators and disconnect all of your appliances.

• Our insurance carrier requires that all loose items be boxed prior to loading them onto our truck. Upon arrival, the movers will wrap and pack any loose items you would like them to take, with the appropriate packing material and boxes. Any existing packing items the movers find inadequate enough for transport will be repacked as needed. The movers will wrap all furniture with padded blankets and packing tape.
